Dan Lyons Captures ASA NSRA Night Two
By: Meridian Speedway Media/BC

Meridian, ID – Day two of the ASA NSRA weekend at the ASA sanctioned Meridian Speedway saw yet another track regular, Dan Lyons, lead the sixteen-car field to the checkered flag, with only one pause for a yellow on lap 39 of the scheduled 50-lap feature. Lyons would remain focused and maintain the lead for the final 11 laps to the checkered. The excitement of the night had to be past World of Outlaws competitor, Brandon Johnson, as he powered his way towards the front only to suffer a flat right rear tire which brought out the yellow on lap 39. After pitting for a new tire, the bright green sprinter returned to action moving quickly up the field for the final 11 laps, finding himself third at the checkered behind race winner Lyons and ASA NSRA regular, Andy Alberding.

Qualifying action saw Johnson lower the track record to an amazing 14:494 in his patented magical smoke show. ASA NSRA points leader, Monte Zima Jr., suffered a hard crash in the trophy dash but was able to make repairs to the car for the feature. Sprint car legend, Kenny Hamilton, won the B-Dash while heats went to Sierra Jackson and K. Hamilton.
